Frequently asked questions
Do you offer a written contract?
In a word, yes. Each project - regardless of its size - is issued with a contract which sets out the agreed work in easy to understand terms. This ensures each party has the same understanding as to what has been agreed from the outset in the original written quotation and the full extent of the work to be undertaken is clearly recorded; which helps to avoid future problems.
What are Building Regulations?
Building Regulations control building works in England and Wales. Scotland and Ireland have their own Building Codes. These cover a wide range of construction work, for example site preparation, ventilation, drainage and glazing. There are even regulations designed to conserve fuel and power within buildings. Along with the Local Authority Building Control Dept we can advise you each step of the way
Do I need planning permission?
Many internal alterations to your home do not need planning permission, but if you are extending your accommodation you should always check this out. We are able to advise you and help you from finding you an architect or surveyor to working alongside the planning department at your local authority on your behalf.
Do you carry out all of the works or will I also need to find a plumber, electrician, decorator etc?
We project manage from initial consultation to finish and use only time served skilled tradesmen - we cover all aspects of any building works. We control the whole process internally so we know the work is carried out to our high standards by tradesmen we know and trust We are able to advise on not just the building works but also on the interior design - we are keen to source the perfect fittings for your project from bathroom tiles to a bespoke oak staircase.
